Well, he went all the way to the other hospital’s ER, spent 4-5 hours there and was waiting to see the doctor we like that he’s seen before and suddenly, his heart just went back into normal rhythm on its own. After almost 5 full days of being in atrial fibrillation, he converted back on his own which is NOT normal. But we’re thankful, albeit perplexed.
I picked him up yesterday evening and he got a full night’s sleep last night (despite still being sore from the incision for the pacemaker thing) and feels pretty darn good today.
After being released from the hospital yesterday, he had to wait about half hour for me so he walked a short half mile to the mall and walked around and felt totally fine. He couldn’t walk up stairs without feeling like he was going to pass out before! It’s amazing how instantly it changes.
Anyway, we’re following up with the other specialist next week, paying cash for the appt *sigh*, to get a gameplan for if this happens again. Hopefully it won’t for a while but if it does, I think the dr. will recommend the atrial ablation which is a big ordeal. I know all this isn’t over, but at least we’ll have a plan in place.
