So after having had the atrial fibrillation and then converting on his own and all that, a few days later he was still feeling really tired and crappy. Not nearly as bad as when he was in a-fib, but definitely not as good as those first two weeks after he had the pacemaker put in originally.
So I’m thinking that the lead came out again. I was pretty convinced. But we finally saw the specialist and the tech looked at the pacemaker and it was working fine. Phew! After many questions and some discussion about what could be causing him to feel bad, we realized that there was a setting changed when they did the second pacemaker surgery which is supposed to possibly help keep him from going into atrial fibrillation again. But now, it’s making the device pace him 75% of the time, when before he was only being paced 25% of the time. So right there we KNEW something was up and that setting must be causing it. The doctor and tech even said that it’s not even really proven to help with a-fib and so they turned it off.
So we’re finally at a place where things are good, he’s only on light restrictions now and is sleeping better and feeling better. What an ordeal this whole thing has been! Hopefully this is my last post on this for a while. :)
