911 and NICU Visit

Here’s what happened… She had a low grade fever this morning but it broke and she seemed fine. I put her down for a nap and around 12:45pm she woke up crying. A different cry. I changed her diaper…noticed it was greenish and not the usual yellow. I tried to feed her, she refused. Made me worried since it had been about 3 1/2 hours since her last feeding. Then the scary part, she started having labored breathing and her head/face was bright red but her legs and arms turned grey and splotchy, her eyes crossed, her arms started shaking. I checked her temp and it was 104.5 under her arm. I called the dr. who said to take her to the ER. I called Daddy to come get me. The nurse called back and said “you know what, you need to call 911”. So I did. Paramedics came and checked her out. Her temp had gone down 1 degree by then but was still way too high. She was breathing better and her color was better and no more shaking. They didn’t feel that they needed to take her to the hospital in the ambulance but that we should take her right away so we did. They admitted her pretty much right away, put us up in the NICU and here we are. I freaked out, it was so scary.
