I have some good news to report, it turns out he won’t have to stay overnight this time. He saw the doctor who said it’s a quicker outpatient thing and he should only be there a few hours.
And you know what, after talking about the 6 weeks thing with the doctor, he still says only 3 weeks for normal stuff and 6 weeks for heavy lifting, sports, etc. What happened is he said that since Daddy is so young he got “greedy” and placed that wire in a spot that would have better results overall, but that isn’t as tolerated by older people (who normally get the pacemakers). But apparently it just didn’t stay. The wire that came out was the one in the ventricle when normally, if one comes out, it’s the one in the atrium. So it wasn’t just a matter of the 2 weeks, it was the doctor trying to get it positioned in a different place than usual. This time he’s just going to put it in the normal spot.
Anyway…that’s the deal. So he’ll likely have it done on Tuesday assuming the insurance authorization comes back, if not, then the following Tuesday.
