I’ve been talking to him about the potty a lot recently and the other day we decided to just go cold turkey and put him in underwear. We had tried this a few months ago and it didn’t last.

Anyway, problem is he doesn’t ask or tell us he has to go pee. We just ask him periodically and if it’s been a couple of hours I’ll have him go. He had an accident yesterday and I know it’s because we didn’t ask him in time.

So he can go several hours between, and knows how to go just fine once we tell him, but he is also just fine peeing in his pants if we don’t remind him. At least it’s a step, hopefully after a little while he’ll get it and ask/tell us beforehand. But it seems to me that a kid has to care whether or not he pees his pants before he cares enough to ask/tell us beforehand, kwim? *sigh* Well, we’re getting there. At least he doesn’t have to be in a diaper at school!
