The new room downstairs isn’t a full house addition, we just framed in a small office for me which will also have all my craft stuff and lots of room for working on projects. I can’t wait!
Here are a few pictures of how it will be laid out and the progress:
Looking toward the front of the house, that’s the front door on the left. This area is a large living/dining area. The new room will take up the living area and the dining area will still be there on the right, but will instead have a small game table (like foosball):
And then this is looking in from the front door:
It’s small, but it’s large enough for an office/craft area and to house my supplies. :) My hubby has already framed it in and is putting the door in today, so we’re much further along than these pictures show!
Here is hubby wiring up a light and switch before putting up the drywall:
Here is where we are at right now… The drywall on the outside is done, and he’s working on finishing the inside today. Then he will have to put the “mud” in the cracks, add the rounded corner pieces and let that all dry. The step after that is to texture the wall so it matches the rest of the house (I hate the textured walls they have here in California) and then paint! I ordered the paint from our neighbor and should have that soon (see sample below). Can’t wait!
For wall color on the inside, this is pretty close to what I chose:
