We met with the couple last night who the agency said might be a good match for us and I think it went so well! (I hope they feel the same way LOL!) We love them. We seemed to hit it off right away and I just felt so comfortable, especially considering for what we were meeting for.

The marriage/family counselor who has been working with us from the beginning (she’s the one who gave all the personality tests, etc.) was there to introduce us and so we can all go over the not fun issues, which we all agreed on, and we all talked for about an hour and a half and then she left. The four of us then went to dinner at a Japanese steakhouse across the street and were there for a while. We showed them pics of the kids, they had brought a gift for them – a cute cuddly koala stuffed animal and a video…we chatted a lot and our personalities seem pretty complementary to one another. They seem to be laid back, take-it-as-it-comes kind of people. I LOVE that. They’re talkative, open and friendly people and want to be involved and hear all the news. They’re online and very connected that way so it will be easy for us to give updates, which I really like.

So it went great, we are proceeding with the next steps which include lots and lots of paperwork, contracts, attorneys, etc. Considering it’s the holidays things may not happen as quickly as usual…the counselor said we may be looking at a transfer toward the end of February so it could still be a couple of months.

We also told hubby’s mom last night and she took it pretty well. She ended with saying that it was such a wonderful thing that we are doing and that was that. No weirdness or anything. I’m pleasantly surprised.

Anyway, I’m excited!
