I have taken the step to the other side…muahaha!

Yesterday I purchased my first few digital scrapbooking kits! Up until now…well, for the whopping half dozen or so layouts I’ve done thus far…I’ve used free kits and stuff that I’ve found at various sites. Well yesterday I spent a whole $6.13 at Simply Clean Digi Scraps (by Melany Violette) and got these cool items:

Summertime Doodlebugs Digi Scraps

Springtime Doodlebugs Digi Scraps

Whimsy

…plus these freebies:

The Simply Clean Digi Scraps Signature Mini Kit

Wild Child Paisley Digi Scraps

Fuzzy Doodle Blooms Digi Scraps

Cute, huh?! Anyway, I can tell this is a leap to the “other side” which is a scary, scary place for my bank account. Thankfully, I can purchase a little bit here and there and it’s not much money and it will squash the little shopping bug that grows in my brain more often than it should.

But on a more serious note, I did make one big purchase that I know I will never regret and will be VERY glad I did it in the beginning…I purchased ACDSee photo organizing software which is known to be fantabulous for organizing digital scrapbooking files! Yay! I already have many gigabytes of embellishments, alphas, papers, etc. and then I have it DOUBLED because in one folder I have it organized by designer and the other folder by type. Well, this software will let me organize everything, tagging items with keywords and categorizing everything without doubling, tripling or even quadrupling the files. I’ll be able to find things faster and more easily! I’m excited. I just have to find the time now to actually DO all of the cataloging.

Told ‘ya I was addicted. ;)

  1. I have been scrapbooking for 14 years and have not gone digital yet. I have a whole room of papers, supplies etc. How do you print the pages? What do you print them on? Do you do 12 x 12 pages?

  2. I do 12×12 and at first it was hard to find an affordable way to have them printed but I had mine printed here: http://www.sbtoshare.com/Digital.htm and was very happy. I haven’t printed any in a while but it’s much easier now to find 12×12 printing services. Lots of bigger places are doing it now since there is a demand. What I like about the ones I got from the site above is they are not on photo paper (you do have that option though). They are matte finish on cardstock which I think looks more realistic.
