Finally had my appt!

Lots of tests and paperwork and stuff but it went well. Kaiser uses all midwives (CNMs) for regular care and then you just see the doctor once or twice. The dr doesn’t even deliver the baby! Dh asked me how much the insurance plan costs that allows you to see an actual doctor . LOL

I really like this woman, she’s super nice. She (I believe Kaiser in general too) want to keep interventions to a minimum and I said I am definitely on board with that.

What’s funny is she delivered her first child at the hospital where I delivered Kirby, though like 25 years ago. She said her horrible experience there is what made her go become a midwife! I said yeah, they haven’t changed much then because my experience was crappy too.

So anyway, she thinks by the look and feel of things that I’m right around 14 weeks, give or take a week and that would put my due date right around May 22nd. I just went ahead and updated my ticker for the heck of it. I had estimated me to be at 15 weeks right now so we’re in the same ballpark. They are going to call me to schedule the ultrasound…should be done within a week.

Had to do my first glucose test too. Even if I pass I will still have to do another one later in the pregnancy because of my history.

So that’s about it, poked and prodded and then I’ll see the “doctor” in a few weeks to meet him and go over the u/s, etc. I’m just relieved to be at this point.

Oh, and what I really thought was cool is there were pictures of actual nursing women throughout the halls of the office and posters about breastfeeding and lots of literature.

Edited to add:
I got the results from the glucose test and I passed. Yay! It was actually low. Maybe I won’t get it this time. I wonder if being much more overweight the last two times is what made me get it.
