This is the second time in a month that Kirby has woken up in the middle of the night screaming – I’m 99.9% sure the first time was a night terror because we just could NOT snap him out of it and he was definitely in a weird state of sleep/awake/dream. But last night he was fully awake and just would not stop crying. We were holding him, rocking him, we laid him on our bed and were just laying there with him not really knowing what what wrong. He wasn’t screaming bloody murder like he was in pain – it didn’t really seem like a pain cry – but it was just constant. After about 10-15 minutes of it I was considering taking him to the hospital. Finally he put his arms out to me and I picked him up again and held him and scratched his back and he was out cold in about 30 seconds. What gives? What would you have done? It’s just so hard seeing him like that and not being able to do anything, kwim?
