Well, last Wednesday I had the oh-so-fun 3-hour Gestational Diabetes class. Woo hoo! There were five of us in the class, I was the only one who had had it previously. What’s weird is that we are all having girls! :) Anyway, that went well I guess. Last Friday I had my regular OB appt. From now on I will see her every 2-3 weeks. I have to have an u/s within the next three weeks and then I will be having one every 4 weeks from here on out to keep an eye on fetal growth. I gained a few lbs, three I think, since last time…measuring well, h/b great. That afternoon I had the consultation about my GD with the hospital’s Fetal Diagnostic Center (which is where I will have the u/s’s). The dr. said my blood glucose levels look great and I only have to check them twice a day (first thing in the morning and 1 hr. after breakfast) instead of 4x. If they start to go up, I may have to take the insulin pill and if I can’t keep them down I’ll have to get the daily insulin shot (:shiver). He’s very confident that since Kirby wasn’t a big baby and my levels look so good that there won’t be a problem this time. Anyway, that’s about it. I have to keep an extra close eye on movement and kick counts and just keep doing what I’m doing with the iron, glucose checking, etc.
Update – Had a few appts
