What a Happy Boy!

Almost everyone who has ever met Kirby has said what a happy baby he is. He will smile at anyone and giggles easily at something silly. His laugh is such a hearty, rolling laugh that you makes it impossible for you not to laugh when you hear it.

So what does Kirby have in his life to giggle about? Well, Kirby has a very funny and very silly daddy. Daddy will do just about anything to get a laugh from Kirby. Whether it be tickling, making goofy faces and noises, swinging him from side to side, chasing him around, growling and pretending to nibble his toes…you get the picture. This household is always full of laughter. I’m still a silly, goofy and funny person but no one makes Kirby laugh harder and more than good ‘ole Daddy!

Kirby likes to come to me when he needs to be cuddled, fed, rocked to sleep, get a new diaper and, of course, to make the owies go away. That’s what moms are for, right? One thing that Kirby likes to do with Mommy is play hide-and-seek and tag! All I have to say is “I’m gonna get you!” in a sort of lyrical tone and he goes running. For hide-and-seek I run into the other room and call his name and he searches and searches until he finds me. It’s so cute, because he peeks around corners and behind doors to find where I’m hiding.

Being Home With Mom and Dad

One thing that we have worked hard to ensure, is that at least one of us is always home with him. He does not go to daycare or a baby sitter and this is how it has been since he was born. He has actually only been watched only a handful of times by his grandparents, and never overnight. So Kirby has Mommy or Daddy around all the time, and I really think he likes it that way, and it’s what we feel is best.

When Kirby Was Born…

When Kirby was born, he had dark brown hair, like me. Much of his baby hair fell out and in grew blonde hair, just like his Daddy! Lo and behold, he got Daddy’s blonde hair and blue eyes, even though I have dark hair and eyes. He has Daddy’s skin tone as well, very fair…and sensitive too. But when it comes to facial features, he looks more like me. He definitely has my nose and mouth and over the last year he has acquired my eye shape and facial shape as well. He even has my hands…short, chubby fingers with big palms. It appears that he has his dad’s feet however…size HUGE! Overall, Kirby is a perfect blend of both of us!

Wonderful Personality

This little kid has such an awesome personality. He is laid back, happy, affectionate, playful, independent, and energetic (but not too energetic, if you know what I mean) to name just a few. I feel so truly blessed to have such a wonderful child. It is so obvious that he just loves life and loves to be with us. I’d love to take credit for this, but he’s been this way from the beginning!
