I had the AFP test done like months ago (I think it’s done usually around 16 weeks or something?) Anyway, due to insurance changes and whatnot, I never received results since by the time they came back, I was no longer on Kaiser so they didn’t feel the need to discuss them with me or let me know anything.

So anyway,

I had my 34-week visit and all looks good still and the AFP results came back fine, the dr said she is very pleased with them and has no concerns and also, I don’t have the elevated HCG levels like I did last time so there’s no reason for any extra u/s or anything.

I am just so curious as to why I would have some things during some pregnancies and not in subsequent ones, kwim? But it’s good I guess!

So this time has been fairly uneventful, no gest. diab, no high HCG, nothin’ else…let’s hope it stays that way!

Next week starts the weekly visits (yikes!) and they do a pelvic exam then too, to see if I’m dilated yet. (double yikes!)
